MS Walk update

I guess this is a great post for the new blog. This is the David & Suzanne Blog rather than the David Blog or the Suzanne Blog. Actually, Suzanne has not officially entered the biosphere.

Today was the MS Walk. You can review a few pictures of the event if you like if you click here. I tried to put some meaningful captions as well.

Overall we had a great time. Yes, we got off late and I had to stop for gas as I had forgotten to stop last night. I hate leaving town without a full tank. We had directions, but the directions did not plan for the tollway to be closed in places. Yikes! We were not lost, but the map did not have fine enough resolution to have all the streets we needed. With the help of two gas stations we found our way in plenty of time.

Once at the site, we got all the paper work done. We decided to turn the cash and checks in later as we can still raise money for another thirty days. $900 was fun, but a even $1000 would be great! On the trail we chatted here and there. We took the water and I took a banana. I wish they had put up more trash cans. I carried the peel for a while longer than I wanted. At one help station, an adult told me they were a youth group of middle age kids doing a service project each month. I chatted with a kid or two and told them they were our future, great kids!

Even though a 5K is not a 10 miler, we were both glad we have been walking in training. To think some people ran the whole thing! I guess next year we can try to walk with purpose rather than mosey.

Edit: Here is the clip Suzanne recorded.
